Time is the currency. If you can afford to be bored, you’ve won at life. Take up art (probably painting because if it’s crap you get to call it modern and act smug) and Stoicism and enjoy it. Bakadesuyo is a blog that takes all the research findings of social science and presents them like a normal person.

You bump your head on the dopamine ceiling thanks to the hedonic treadmill but you need to seek out challenges and lower your novelty threshold.

I took a look at a little gander of my digital library to recommend you some titles (aside from Meditations and Seneca and the rest of Ol’ Reliable) to pick your brain over;

  • A Guide to the Good Life – the Ancient Art of Stoic Joy
  • 501 Challenging Logic and Reasoning Problems
  • An Incomplete Education
  • Big Ideas in Brief
  • From Success to Significance
  • How to be invisible
  • Practical Duct Tape Projects (you laugh but you’re curious)
  • Show me How – 500 things you should know…
  • Steal Like an Artist
  • The Defining Decade
  • The Design of Everyday Things

Yes it’s alphabetical and I am lazy. I’m sure Amazon can recc. you some modern Stoic stuff but I can’t vouch for it unlike Good Life. Go to a bookshop and spin around a few times and see what looks good.

Also, do what I do; dive headfirst into an obscure random topic. Something completely out of your comfort zone and difficulty level. If it puts you off as Too Hard, read it. Today I’m reading about antiques, patina and gilding. I have no idea what half these words are.

yup damon ian somerhalder vampire diaries hot duh yes uhuh

Never bored though.

1. Be civil. 2. Be logical or fair. 3. Do not bore me.
