Evil for evil’s sake

Coming to a point, true.

The fig leaf of evil in this time period is “fun”.

From the outside, Hell must look like the best party, the most outrageous club. Disney portrayed Hell with Pleasure Island, FFS. It’s the Pied Piper for adults.

Coachman = Ferryman of Greek myth. No exit, Hades = Bible translation Hell.

All the freedom in the world, except to leave.

The myth around Jack the Ripper borrows from this.

People forget – well, a lot of things – but that Hell has also been a place that twists everything, (Dante) it starts out fun and becomes a Personal Hell, where the thing is ruined and ruins you.

Don’t trust your lying eyes, that see Satan in this red face. Hair tufts always look like horns.

Some homework to think about:

If you knew for a fact there were an afterlife, would you have behaved any differently? If religion isn’t required for morality (structure) then the answer should be No.

Apple-bringers: how does this relate to Pascal’s presentation of the matter?

Don’t write it to me, just think about it. Mull it over.

1. Be civil. 2. Be logical or fair. 3. Do not bore me.
