The guys who complain about make-up

are also the ones who’d complain if a woman smells like anything other than floral body lotion.

Like, they’ll criticize women for being fat but also being “high maintenance” i.e. not fat.

Nah-uh!

By ancient standards, you’re more decadent than a French king.

Think how poofy you’d be.

You sleep on fluffy pillows, on stitched mattresses, with plush blankets, having used liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, a comb, an electric razor, central heating/air conditioning, with a glass of cold milk waiting in your refrigerator if you wake up thirsty. You think this is nothing and feel entitled to this and more.

Who’s the vain one? When are these guys dispensing with all their vanities?

First up, the smartphone! Ultimate vanity symbol! Don’t need that!

Right….?

Right guys?

No, you won’t give up modern comforts so STFU lecturing everyone else.

Do it yourself first and then you might have something to signal with.

Being attractive isn’t a sin! These embittered boys are like SJWs and want everyone else to stop making an effort because they’re too lazy! (Covert narcissism, their ego is triggered because they stand out for not making the effort).
R-types want an equalist playing field, remember? Equal outcomes. They actually believe it’s better we’re all equal in stench and skin ailments (skin cancer exists) than feel insecure some dude next to them on the train is wearing nice jeans and a cool cologne.
Men against make-up, for a third-world society looking and smelling like shit.
It already does, in my opinion, let’s not make it worse. The average person makes less effort with their appearance than at any time period before in all human history.
Fashion history exists, whether you read it or not.
Porn taught you “make-up” (please define make-up, guys who can’t spot eyeliner) is a sexual invite and you’re pissed the fiction is fake. That isn’t the world’s fault. That’s your fault for being dumb. (They also think natural beauty is a sexual invitation because addicts are gullible idiots).
What other people look like and how they groom their body has nothing to do with you. Stop being so shallow and obsessing over it.
Grooming is a basic primate instinct. If you don’t have it, you’re clinically depressed.
They look at a naturally pretty girl and think she’s a bitch for wearing lipstick – who’s sinning here?
Jesus himself went off on one at the person who dared call his oil bath vain. There is a spiritual bond between how we treat ourselves (with respect) and how we act in the world (decently).
How dare any of you Americans (and it’s always Americans) shame people about simple standards of appearance?
I’ve been to your country enough times to know you have Fuck-All to be proud of in the appearance stakes.
Romans 12:1, NKJV. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service
1 Corinthians 10:31, NKJV. “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
I Corinthians 6:19-20, NKJV. “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
And there’s nothing sinful about having a woman’s body either, God made that too. To insult a woman’s natural form is to blaspheme God’s design.
Genesis 1:27, NKJV. “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
Beautification is not a sin, and never has been (there are plenty of Biblical references about good, moral wives looking good too and being the pride of their husbands) it’s about a First World living standard and a longer lifespan, pride is the sin. Like presuming to judge other’s non-silicon appearance and the body/Temple God gave them…
If you look at the history of cosmetics, it’s always been primarily about health because, guess what? Healthy people are more attractive! Cosmeceuticals are not a new thing! Only in the past couple of centuries have they been separated off. Why? Legal reasons. Lower standards for non-medical products to hit the market or that they couldn’t prove the really subjective claims e.g. radiant smile. What’s that? How do you medically prove that?
These would be the “men” who attack other men for wanting to make the best of their appearance.
Leave them alone and join a pro-ugly group, you losers.
Sorry attractive people enjoying their life make you sad, but this isn’t a company’s fault, it’s evolution. [Explain sexual selection without attractiveness, I fucking dare you.]
Since it’s none of your business unless it’s your wife, join a monastery if attractive things frighten you. Do you balk at flowers and smiling babies too?
If everyone went back to smelling like ass and swamp crotch, you’d still be bottom of the barrel and whine about it. Fitness still exists.
Sports are as decadent as Hollywood but the guys claiming models shouldn’t be paid for what nature gave them never ever apply that logic to the genetic freaks known as athletes.
They’d only be happy in the world of Harrison Bergeron because pretty people couldn’t oppress them by comparison. Dya wanna ban Photoshop too? You do, don’t you?
It’s basic etiquette to look good and act good too.
This isn’t an either/or, don’t try to spin a false dichotomy out of this.
Looking like a slob is a sin as much as being it. It’s literally a sin to apply sloth to your personal care habits.
When are you banning mouthwash for making men seem more attractive than their natural oral bacteria (including the likes of Herpes) might suggest?
Jesus never used mouthwash. QED according to you.

1929 elderly Americans

The humour, the dignity, the health.

I think TV + bad food causes modern ugliness, mostly.

Looking at these types of footage, they’re definitely poisoning your food.

Comment

Amazing! These people over 100, you can easily knock off 25 or 35 years. They look like “our” 65 and 70ish year olds. Must be the lack of processed food and simplicity of life.

Hedonism too, think who you compare them to, burned out hippy Boomers looked incredibly aged and haggard compared to the good old-fashioned self-controlled Boomers (who do exist, rarer). It can’t just be sun damage because these people did more outdoor, honest work and remember many STDs also affect appearance (just burning on the immune system, even if they’re treated and cleared getting any disease it’s a physical stressor).

nah, they just worked way harder then nowadays

very true they worked about a thousand times as hard as we do

Hard labour is good for young boys (teens) and men, helps them develop. Gyms don’t develop the body properly, especially with starvation diets. Compare a man in an outdoor job e.g. building with a gym rat of the same age and it’d be easily to tell who looks younger (the one that isn’t pushing his body to the limits, burning it out and using its full range of motion instead). Body builders are some of the most haggard people around.

I’ve noticed women who exercise like men started to look like them, and older. Much older than other girls/women their age. Drinkers too, across the sexes. Everyone knows about druggies.

It’s not just hard labor. They knew how to manage life and didn’t try to over complicate their lives. They had real values, not perfect but, real as oppose to the moral relativity of the day.

I’ve noticed real Christians have a glow of health that others don’t, including CHINOs and Churchians. A good way to spot.

The more sallow a young person is, the likelier they are to be atheist. I don’t know why. It also applies to the fake moniker “born again” cultists, the people who hide behind a cross and hope you won’t know they’re wearing sheep’s clothing. Ex-sinners are not superior to the people who were never malicious enough to do bad things, daily, for years, America. Karma is an idea you’ll also find in the Bible, you don’t get to ignore it.

Anyone who wasn’t fit and healthy was dead, today half the population is dying but kept alive through advances in medicine.

….True.

Most refreshing of all, that adds to the dignity, they aren’t dressing like teenagers or trying to act cool or younger than they are. I think those Boomers will go down in history as the clown ones nobody should emulate.

Only a person who wasted their life wants to be 21 again.

It’s easy for idiots to point and laugh at these people, but someday, we’ll all be old, if we’re lucky.

What race were ancient Greeks?

https://chechar.wordpress.com/2017/10/27/what-race-were-the-greeks/

In fact, there was a good basis for the 1911 Britannica to write about blonds in Thebes. Thebes was the leading city of Boeotia, a rich agricultural region in south-central Greece. Fragments from an ancient 150 BC travelogue describe the women of Thebes as “the tallest, prettiest, and most graceful in all of Hellas. Their yellow hair is tied up in a knot on the top of their head.” Pindar, a fifth century Theban lyric poet, refers to the Greeks as “the fair-haired Danaoi,” using a poetical name for the Hellenes. Likewise, in his Partheneia, or “Maiden Songs,” the seventh century BC Spartan poet Alcman, praised the beauty of Spartan female athletes, with their “golden hair” and “violet eyes.” He also wrote of Spartan women with “silver eyes,” meaning light gray. The seventh-century BC Greek poet Archilochus praises the “yellow hair” of one of his lovers, and Sappho—also of the seventh century BC—writes of her “beautiful daughter, golden like a flower.”

A society of badass Elizabeth Taylors, don’t take it away from me.

At minimum, they must classify as white because they were ancient European.

I would also like to point out that Aphrodite was called The Golden One, after her hair.

Looks are important for men, case study hair

Holy hell I know straight men who’d go gay for 1940s man. Notice how different he looks? He looks like a different person in every era, because the hair styling accentuates or downplays different parts of him. In my estimation he goes from a 6 in some (70s ew) to a 10 in others (send me back to the 40s please). Grooming is important as hygiene, men are pretending to not understand as an excuse to be lazy but look! Look at what a difference it makes!

LOOKS ARE IMPORTANT.

Do you really think all the men bemoaning how women nowadays don’t dress well have no counterpart in the sex that single-handedly keeps the Looks Industry afloat?

Personally, I think it’s such a tragedy when a man with a strong razor-straight jawline grows a beard (beards were supposed to hide weak jawlines, men with good jaws should NEVER get them). He loses one of his best physical assets.

Nordic Spartans? How white were Ancient Rome and Greece?

And that’s why the Ancients had Empires. The IQ required would match.

…There is good reason to think that Homer was recording stories handed down during the Dark Age. He was a bard who lived in Ionia, a region on the Aegean coast of what is now Turkey, and if he were making the stories up he would have claimed that the heroes were Ionian. Instead, he sings praises to the light-haired Achaean nobility: Achilles, their greatest warrior, has “red-gold hair,” Odysseus, their greatest strategist, has “chestnut hair,” his wife Penelope has “white cheeks the color of pure snow,” Agamede, a healer and expert on medicinal plants, is “blonde,” and King Menelaus of Sparta, the husband of Helen, has “red hair.” Helen, likewise, has “fair hair,” and even slave girls are light-skinned: “fair-tressed Hecamede,” “fair-cheeked Chryseis,” and “blonde Briseis.” This is significant, for if even some of the slaves were blond it would mean the Nordic type was not unique to the Achaeans, that it was present elsewhere in the Aegean world.

Homer (and Pindar) describe most of the Olympian gods and goddesses as fair haired and “bright eyed,” meaning blue, grey or green. The goddess Demeter has “blond” or “yellow hair,” as does Leto, mother of Apollo, who is also described as “golden haired.” Aphrodite has “pale-gold” hair, and Athena is known as “the fair, bright-eyed one” and the “grey-eyed goddess.” Two of the gods, Poseidon and Hephaestus, are described as having black hair. As noted above, Xenophanes complained that all peoples imagine the gods to look like themselves…..

Thus, classical Greece was a fusion, both cultural and racial, of these two types of whites. Some city-states, such as Thebes and Sparta, were predominantly Nordic. Others, such as Athens, were predominantly Mediterranean, and still others were mixtures of the two.

300 didn’t feature enough gingers.

applause clap clapping yes well done

Wait, there’s more. On wikipedia;

Grant, after defining the Nordics as having aquiline noses, went back through history and found such a nose and other characteristics he called “Nordic” in many historically prominent men. Among these were Alexander the Great, Dante Alighieri, “all the chief men of theRenaissance“, as well as King David. Grant identified Jesus Christ as having had those “physical and moral attributes”.

Women have eyes too aka women are just as shallow as men

https://medium.com/@RobertBurriss/do-women-remember-how-a-man-looks-or-what-he-says-b3a350cc5b16

You could read those findings in reverse.

Regardless of the type of relationship sought, women had approximately the same majority memory for appearance.

The women in the fling group were correct about the man’s appearance 75% of the time, whilst women in the long-term group were right 70% of the time.

And didn’t really care what he thought or said.

The groups of women also differed in their memory for the man’s verbal statements. This time the tables were turned: women in the fling group scored on average of 64%, a score 4% lower than women in the long-term group.

So, when women are sizing a man up for a long-term relationship, they seem to pay more attention to his verbal statements. And when women are instead considering a chap for a one night stand, they memorize more facts about his appearance.

Hardly good news for PUA scripts.

Let’s see if you can decipher this.

So, how good were the women’s memories?

On average, the women correctly answered 73% of the questions about the man’s appearance, but only 66% of the questions about what he had said.

Physical attractiveness is just that, physical. Appearance was the thing most women remembered most. It isn’t based on additional information as is usually argued (status markers for example), which need not be provided to remember or add to what he looks like (a few seconds of observation).
Aka women are also shallow. Which means men don’t have a monopoly on the trait.

This difference is probably down to the fact that the man’s appearance was on screen for the whole three minutes, so women had more time to take in information about appearance than each of his verbal statements.

Probably – male writer, trying to keep the women special ideal.
In spite of the data pointing toward a clear, marked preference for raw physical attractiveness over anything else, it’s almost like he’s got the blinkers on.

lalalalala women aren’t shallow!

Women have eyes.

Study: The evolutionary psychology of facial beauty

Meta-analysis/Review paper. Top tier.

Click to access rhodes.meta.analysis.pdf

What makes a face attractive and why do we have the preferences we do? Emergence of preferences early in development and cross-cultural agreement on attractiveness challenge a long-held view that our preferences reflect arbitrary standards of beauty set by cultures. Averageness, symmetry, and sexual dimorphism are good candidates for biologically based standards of beauty. A critical review and meta-analyses indicate that all three are attractive in both male and female faces and across cultures. Theorists have proposed that face preferences may be adaptations for mate choice because attractive traits signal important aspects of mate quality, such as health. Others have argued that they may simply be by-products of the way brains process information. Although often presented as alternatives, I argue that both kinds of selection pressures may have shaped our perceptions of facial beauty.
It confirms the obvious…
…..Femininity is the strongest component of female attractiveness, but it showed no association with health (although only one study has looked for this). Femininity may signal fertility rather than health per se (Johnston 2000, Johnston & Franklin 1993, Symons 1979). The reasoning is that high estrogen/androgen ratio are associated with both feminine characteristics (e.g., small jaw, full lips) and fertility. A preference for feminine faces, therefore, would target sexually mature females. Facial femininity could also signal individual differences in fertility in adult females, to the extent that femininity declines with age.
How men age in attractiveness wasn’t studied, nor cross-referenced with sperm quality, which pisses me off. I wanna see the data on that.
What do you expect, it’s mostly men conducting the studies in this field.
Recently, male facial attractiveness has been linked to genetic heterozygosity at sites involved in immune function. Future studies should determine which components of male attractiveness (masculinity, averageness, symmetry) mediate this link, and whether female attractiveness is also linked to heterozygosity at these sites. A more direct test of a link between attractiveness and immunocompetence could also be done by challenging the immune system.
However, this seems to reinforce a youth link in both sexes via immune function and cellular quality.

What Men Think Women Value vs. What Women Actually Value (SMV)

Test: Were these two charts made by a man or a woman?

From the laddertheory site. You can click through. Notice on the female it says attractions to avoid the ego blow of listing looks?

From the laddertheory site. You can click through although most of the detail is bullshit.                             Notice on the female it says the super-vague attraction to avoid the ego blow of listing looks?

I covered the male delusion that women don’t care about appearance here: https://disenchantedscholar.wordpress.com/2015/07/18/women-care-about-looks-stop-deluding-yourselves-guys/

I’ll use the same values as the male chart for the easiest demonstrative purposes.
It should be eye-opening. This is all short-term strategy obviously.
