Fake burger, real trans fats

Big Food has a lot to answer for.

DECODING LABELS: Beyond Meat Chicken

Higher consumption of unsaturated fats linked with lower mortality

Mmmmmm, bleeding vegetable oils.

Trans fats—on their way to being largely phased out of food—had the most significant adverse impact on health. Every 2% higher intake of trans fat was associated with a 16% higher chance of premature death during the study period.

That’s a big deal.

Eightfold.

And cumulative.

Higher consumption of saturated fats was also linked with greater mortality risk. When compared with the same number of calories from carbohydrate, every 5% increase in saturated fat intake was associated with an 8% higher risk of overall mortality.

That’s practically insignificant proportionally, especially since the method painstakingly avoid citing animal source or non-animal sourced fats. Too vague.

Conversely, intake of high amounts of unsaturated fats—both polyunsaturated and monounsaturated—was associated with between 11% and 19% lower overall mortality compared with the same number of calories from carbohydrates.

You cannot compare to sick Americans as your control population. No.

Bad scientism.

They don’t want people learning how to be really healthy. It would show up on their data more. You need half a century of plant propaganda to convince people our declining health is good for us.

Among the polyunsaturated fats, both omega-6, found in most plant oils, and omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish and soy and canola oils, were associated with lower risk of premature death.

The Western diet is toxic purely because there’s too much omega 6, a deadly excess.

The lifespan of India also suggests avoiding animal products is…. ill-advised.

People who replaced saturated fats with carbohydrates had only slightly lower mortality risk.

eat your GMO grains, you’ll live longer

sounds legit

“Our study shows the importance of eliminating trans fat and replacing saturated fat with unsaturated fats, including both omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. In practice, this can be achieved by replacing animal fats with a variety of liquid vegetable oils,” said senior author Frank Hu, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard Chan School and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.

An Asian at Chan school.

Looking as Asia’s meat consumption, you are lying.

Chinese meat imports to expand in 2019: https://apps.fas.usda.gov/psdonline/circulars/livestock_poultry.pdf

Despite global promises to reduce over the past few years.

Maybe I’ll do a whole post.

The only confirmed finding is lab grown shit is toxic.

This Is Your Brain On Trans Fats, Artificial Sweeteners And Alcohol

Trans Fats

As of June 18 of this year, trans fats have been officially banned from all manufactured foods.

Nope.

Research in the 1990s found a strong link between trans fats, also known as “partially hydrogenated oil,” and heart disease.

You are what you eat.

In addition, more and more studies are finding that trans fats cause cellular destruction in the brain and can adversely impact hormone production, memory and increase inflammation by suppressing the production of Omega-3 fatty acids.

Actively suppresses omega 3.

Now, our brains do need fat to function. In fact, the brain relies on natural, healthy fats to maintain cell membranes, keep brain inflammation at bay and transport fat soluble vitamins such as vitamin A, D, E and K. Focus on getting your daily doses of fat from olive oil, coconut oil, nuts, seeds and avocado.

A study of almost 3000 people in 2017 reported a link between artificial sugar consumption and an increased risk of stroke and dementia. In the study, those participants that reported having just one diet beverage a day were three times more likely to develop dementia or suffer from a stroke. Although more research is needed, the findings are alarming.

Aspartame, one of the most commonly used artificial sweeteners in foods and beverages, has also been shown to cause neurodegeneration, mood imbalances and potentially cause brain cells to kill themselves. Instead of artificial sweeteners, use small amounts of natural sugar, such as raw honey, pure maple syrup or dates.

Yeah it also tastes like death.

A literal neurotoxin.

A study of 550 men and women over 30 years published in The BMJ found that even moderate drinking, which they defined as about 6-9 drinks a week, can damage the brain, including hippocampal atrophy.

Anyone that has had a few drinks knows that alcohol can impair judgement, balance, speech and even memory. Many studies have shown that long term heavy drinking can create serious and persistent changes in brain function that include mental confusion, eye nerve paralysis and difficulty with muscle coordination.

Drunkenness is just a form of brain damage that becomes more persistent with chronic alcoholism.

Until they never ‘sober up’ – clear the toxin, ever again.

Let the brain shrinkage vegans eat their fake flesh.

Trans fatty acids (TFA) are produced either by hydrogenation of unsaturated oils or by biohydrogenation in the stomach of ruminant animals. Vanaspati ghee and margarine have high contents of TFA. A number of studies have shown an association of TFA consumption and increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). This increased risk is because TFA increase the ratio of LDL cholesterol to HDL cholesterol. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and World Health Organization have come up with the recommendation that the contents of TFA in human dietary fat should be reduced to less than 4%. There is high prevalence of CVD in Pakistan. High consumption of vanaspati ghee which contains 14.2-34.3% of TFA could be one of the factors for this increased burden of CVD in Pakistan. Consumption of dietary fat low in TFA would be helpful in reducing the risk of CVD in South Asia. Denmark by banning the sale of food items with TFA has brought down the number of deaths due to coronary heart disease by nearly 50% over a period of 20 years. Public awareness about the adverse effects of TFA on human health would be extremely important. Media can play a very effective role in educating the masses and advocating the policy for the sale of only low TFA food items.

It merits legal banning.

A third pattern characterized by high trans fat was associated with less favorable cognitive function and less total cerebral brain volume.

Participants with higher plasma trans fat scores had worse cognitive function overall (memory, attention, language, processing speed, and global).

Each 1-SD increase in the trans fat score associated with a 0.30-SD decrease in global cognitive score.

You sure showed us!

They’re literally retarding themselves.

The high trans fat pattern was consistently associated with worse cognitive performance and less TCBV. Linolelaidic acid is predominantly found in bakery foods such as cookies, doughnuts, cakes, pastries, and pies.

I’d rather eat a donut than fake oozing flesh.

These foods are often prepared with hydrogenated vegetable oils to allow for a long shelf life. Higher trans fatty acid intake increases cardiovascular risk, systemic inflammation, and endothelial dysfunction, all of which may explain an association with cognition., Unfortunately, very few studies have assessed trans fat and risk for cognitive decline.

Funny that.

Big Food funding PACs?

Simple, scan vegan brains and see if they’re atrophied.

Trans fat may aggravate cognitive function independently and jointly through interaction with other dietary factors.e11 Trans fat may displace DHA in neuronal membranes, but apparently does not impact the neuropathologic Alzheimer hallmarks in mice. The consistency of the association of plasma trans fat with poorer cognitive function and more brain atrophy suggests neurologic consequences in humans, but these findings need to be confirmed.

Well?

5 Reasons Vegetable Oil is Worse Than Sugar

The European Food Safety Authority issued a report last year warning consumers about the high levels of potentially carcinogenic contaminants in palm oil (an ingredient used in Kit Kat Bars, Nutella, and Cheez-Its, among other treats) when refined at temperatures above 392°F.

With caveats inherent for ecologic, nutrient disappearance analyses, a healthy dietary allowance for n-3 LCFAs for current US diets was estimated at 3.5 g/d for a 2000-kcal diet. This allowance for n-3 LCFAs can likely be reduced to one-tenth of that amount by consuming fewer n-6 fats.

JUST STOP EATING PROCESSED CRAP.

It’ll cost more in hospital bills.

Soil fertility makes a nation happy

Funny how nature do that.

Antidepressant Microbes In Soil: How Dirt Makes You Happy

“Soil microbes have been found to have similar effects on the brain and are without side effects and chemical dependency potential.”
“Did you know that there’s a natural antidepressant in soil? It’s true. Mycobacterium vaccae is the substance under study and has indeed been found to mirror the effect on neurons that drugs like Prozac provide. The bacterium is found in soil and may stimulate serotonin production, which makes you relaxed and happier. Studies were conducted on cancer patients and they reported a better quality of life and less stress. Lack of serotonin has been linked to depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and bipolar problems.

Let kids play in dirt!

(Deport the people who’d attack kids playing outside!)

The bacterium appears to be a natural antidepressant in soil and has no adverse health effects. These antidepressant microbes in soil may be as easy to use as just playing in the dirt. Most avid gardeners will tell you that their landscape is their “happy place” and the actual physical act of gardening is a stress reducer and mood lifter. The fact that there is some science behind it adds additional credibility to these garden addicts’ claims.

They were already credible since all mood is self-reported.

But okay.

The presence of a soil bacteria antidepressant is not a surprise to many of us who have experienced the phenomenon ourselves. Backing it up with science is fascinating, but not shocking, to the happy gardener. Mycobacterium antidepressant microbes in soil are also being investigated for improving cognitive function, Crohn’s disease and even rheumatoid arthritis.”

Why were the WW2 generation and prior so intelligent?

This is why things like scrubbed, sterilised food and the cozy air conditioned gym are so decadent – go outside and dig a fucking trench, you lazy worm.

There’s also a reason all soldiers worth their salt train outside. You’re not just learning the motions and showing off to a bunch of anorexic fags, you learn to move in the elements.

Gyms are for lightweights, the ancients considered them gay brothels but an alarming number of straight men bought the instawhore propaganda that so much homoerotic body obsession is manly and women like it.

Nooooooooooo.

omnia vanitas, I picture above every gym

It’s so anti-traditional, hostile to logic and artificial.

Show me one feminine woman ‘training’ in a gym. Go ahead. Doesn’t happen. Women know better, to be useful when expending our fewer calories. Ideally making money with your labour instead of straight up time wasting on asscheek validation. Very nice, move on with your life. It’s a climate controlled wimpy environment. If a slight breeze or downpour throws you off, you’re basically a child. The bulk fools nobody. The climate also demands a response, keeping all those twitch muscle fibres and instinctive movements attuned to the real world, not snowflake air conditioned HPV bench land. The HPV must be thick in the air in some places, thanks air con!

Meanwhile, nature:

“Antidepressant microbes in soil cause cytokine levels to rise, which results in the production of higher levels of serotonin. The bacterium was tested both by injection and ingestion on rats, and the results were increased cognitive ability, lower stress and better concentration on tasks than a control group.

Some of the most brittle people you’ll ever meet are broflakes who ‘missed’ their baby protein shake, it’s hilarious. Like soyboys and their burnt Starbucks excuse for a ‘coffee’. Why not suck it all from a giant titty cup and stop kidding yourself? Freud would love this. Talk about oral fixation.

Gardeners inhale the bacteria, have topical contact with it and get it into their bloodstreams when there is a cut or other pathway for infection. The natural effects of the soil bacteria antidepressant can be felt for up to 3 weeks if the experiments with rats are any indication. So get out and play in the dirt and improve your mood and your life.”

I’m tired of tolerating excuses from adults to stay indoors like you’re all afraid of nature. But oh yeah, your ‘guns’ are gonna save you in the Apocalypse, alright…

God forbid a plant scratches you though, you take a dive like a French football team and start sobbing manly tears of gym strength.

It’s unnatural to perform naturally outdoor hobbies indoors. Previously, that was confined to hospital gyms for the elderly. It’s a con. Go outside and stop hoovering up SSRIs and talking about gym endorphins. You’re there for the beauty pageant of closeted poofs. Muh gains, brah. Don’t bother growing a single fucking tomato with all those wasted calories. The gym is manual labour you pay to do.

Serotonin soil paper:
http://www.sage.edu/newsevents/news/?story_id=240785

We don’t need Big Pharma, Big Pharma needs us.

Gyms are also huge business for pussies scared of a little rain.

I doubt Podesta’s indoor gardens, with the constantly jamming water systems, are so nourishing from the soil.

Study more, better grades

Based on:

“Education is wasted on the lazy and stupid, and they’re the same people. That’s Dunning-Kruger. They’re blind to what they’re missing because they’re missing it!
“If someone works harder than you, they deserve to beat you! Add up hours studied and you’ll find female (and male) conscientiousness isn’t bias, they activate with their IQ the traits which help them. The guy or girl “winging it” the night before deserves to fail*. Low IQ don’t have the IQ to know what they’re NOT doing! That isn’t everyone else’s fault! If there are systemic forces against men in some fields, the same must be true of women in other fields because that is how systems work, ya dummies!”
“..It just so happens by nature that there are more lazy men! So yeah, they fail! Confound!

You’re supposed to control for prevalence without ignoring the population. It’s like the IQ studies conducted by men that exclude stupid, lower class men to push the middle-class male genius narrative because the former dwarfs the latter mathematically if they don’t rig it.

(They also don’t control for education and class because they’re faking, like saying ugly people are intelligent in spite of correlations).

Another example of ignoring half: promiscuity/divorce risk studies that never look at men. That is scientism, like ignoring cooling data. They have looked but refuse to publish because it hurt their feelings. I’d like to see an atheist/divorce risk study.

You cannot ignore the left half of the bell curve, men overpopulate it!

Muh Bell Curve (ignores 50%).

They’ve simply never survived in these numbers before because responsibility is the new leprosy in a decadent West. It makes a lot of sense actually. No prior society (that didn’t collapse) ever had to tolerate this much stupid and it shows.”

I decided to drag up a study or two for the idiots who’d dispute it.

First, look at the materials put out to businesses.

https://www.ets.org/s/workforce_readiness/pdf/21334_big_5.pdf

“Of the five main personality factors, Conscientiousness has been shown to be the most consistent, significant predictor of workplace performance.10, 11, 12, 13, 14 For example, meta-analyses on the prediction of job performance from personality dimensions have demonstrated that broad measures of Conscientiousness predict overall job performance,15, 16 even controlling for cognitive ability.17, 18

AKA you can’t cry sexism, conscientious men (like Christians) do fine. Actually, that might be why. There are plenty of conscientious men so it isn’t an exclusive thing, the averages only vary slightly.

In addition to overall job performance, broad measures of Conscientiousness have been shown to predict a number of other valued workplace behaviors, such as organizational citizenship 19, 20 and leadership 21

Emotional Intelligence.

as well as undesirable behaviors such as procrastination, 22 to name a few.

Conscientiousness is the best noncognitive predictor of performance across a wide variety of job types and work outcomes.”

NON COGNITIVE PREDICTOR OF PERFORMANCE.

Mr “Emotional Intelligence isn’t real”.

You have emotions. You have intelligence. You have an EI score, like it or not.

These 7 questions deal with (1) personality and multidimensional models of performance, (2) personality taxonomies and the five‐factor model, (3) the effects of situations on personality–performance relationships, (4) the incremental validity of personality over cognitive ability, (5) the need to differentiate personality constructs from personality measures, (6) the concern with faking on personality tests, and (7) the use of personality tests in attempting to address adverse impact. reference B, 85 years of research

http://emilkirkegaard.dk/en/wp-content/uploads/Schmidt-and-Hunter-1998-Validity-and-Utility-Psychological-Bulletin.pdf

This article summarizes the practical and theoretical implications of 85 years of research in personnel selection. On the basis of meta-analytic findings, this article presents the validity of 19 selection procedures for predicting job performance and training performance and the validity of paired combinations of general mental ability (GMA) and Ihe 18 other selection procedures.

Overall, the 3 combinations with the highest multivariate validity and utility for job performance were GMA plus a work sample test (mean validity of .63), GMA plus an integrity test (mean validity of .65), and GMA plus a structured interview (mean validity of .63). A further advantage of the latter 2 combinations is that they can be used for both entry level selection and selection of experienced employees. The practical utility implications of these summary findings are substantial. The implications of these research findings for the development of theories of job performance are discussed.

And when you look for a genetic connection ‘cos genes, like hips, don’t lie.

“The heritability of conscientiousness facets and their relationship to IQ and academic achievement”

“Our findings confirmed positive associations between IQ and the facets of Competence and Dutifulness (ranging 0.11–0.27), with academic achievement showing correlations of 0.27 and 0.15 with these same facets and 0.15 with Deliberation. All conscientiousness facets were influenced by genes (broad sense heritabilities ranging 0.18–0.49) “

Whew, up to 50%!

The idea of a smart douchebag is a myth to keep them appeased, or at best, they’re only mildly above average (1-2SD), true genius can cooperate (and self-regulate) but idiots can’t perceive anyone above them.

Your IQ isn’t an excuse to be antisocial.

Longitudinal intelligence study, no meaningful sex differences

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0160289607001328

“Findings are inconsistent with developmental theory that suggests males should show an advantage on g in adulthood.”

They bias g with maths and science (applied maths), knowing 14yo boys have an advantage until the 20s.
Many studies deliberately cut off the ages between 10 and 14 to support the male-bias ‘theory’. Naturally, they consider the eldest age studied the ‘final’ result.

And then they wonder why they can’t replicate it.

Crooked methodologies, that’s why. The brain of either sex doesn’t stabilize, nor the male variance artificially increasing their mean during school support years, until the twenties.

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/222660770_Sex_differences_in_latent_cognitive_abilities_ages_6_to_59_Evidence_from_the_Woodcock-Johnson_III_tests_of_cognitive_abilities

Overall, the sexes are not the same, that would be a leading question, but they do even out over total lifespan (just studying school years is stupid) and you would expect evenness from genetically similar halves of the same species, differentiated only by a single chromosome.

If anything, women do have a slight advantage in cognitive ability, but this is group-level and explains medical outcomes  like later or lesser dementia.

Notes

  • G isn’t the only measure of intelligence.
  • There are so many measures of intelligence under the umbrella ‘IQ‘ that considering one type (except Binet for historical value) is rigging it.
  • Fluid intelligence, anyone?
  • Is memory really valuable?
  • ‘Genius’ or precociousness tends to burn out, many don’t live up to their academic potential IRL. Studying purely paper genius is risible, like taking only a paper theory for a driving test then trusting them on the M4 driving a school bus at rush hour. Real-world scores, or at least extra-collegiate scores, count for more.
  • Longitudinal or die. No artificial cutoffs to support confirmation biases. I’d go so far as to say, if you can’t find a study in its longitudinal form, they’re frauds hiding half the data. All developmental studies begin with longitudinal values due to known lifespan shifts.
  • Most intelligence studies focus on white people and especially white men, rendering the older findings studying ALL men quite useless in ascertaining female values. It’s not even wrong.
  • Truth > politics. I refuse to post lies to upset the feminists and cherrypicking for either sex is anti-science.

Expecting Short Inferential Distances in STEM theoretical communications

http://lesswrong.com/lw/kg/expecting_short_inferential_distances/

In the ancestral environment there were no abstract disciplines with vast bodies of carefully gathered evidence generalized into elegant theories transmitted by written books whose conclusions are a hundred inferential steps removed from universally shared background premises.

In the ancestral environment, anyone who says something with no obvious support, is a liar or an idiot.  You’re not likely to think, “Hey, maybe this guy has well-supported background knowledge that no one in my band has even heard of,” because it was a reliable invariant of the ancestral environment that this didn’t happen.

Conversely, if you say something blatantly obvious and the other person doesn’t see it, they’re the idiot, or they’re being deliberately obstinate to annoy you.

And to top it off, if someone says something with no obvious support and expects you to believe it – acting all indignant when you don’t – then they must be crazy….

I have a tactic which has greatly increased my scientific eloquence professionally. Expect I’m speaking to someone with the intelligence of a rather dim child (about 10yo) and jazz up the vocabulary as they become accustomed to the concepts. Be heavy-handed with metaphor and make fun little anecdotes or examples, which tend to stick in lt memory.

A clear argument has to lay out an inferential pathway, starting from what the audience already knows or accepts.  If you don’t recurse far enough, you’re just talking to yourself.

If you dumb yourself down to begin with, human nature means the other person will show off (every single time) and you can see their intelligence level in what they think is The Best (in fact their personal best), and also what they value to leverage in persuasion e.g. pieces of paper/academia/authority figures, empirical truth/data, moral outcomes/personal feelings.
